About
Greetings! I'm Alex, currently a student in Graduate School of Culture Technology at KAIST. Right now I work on my research at the Digital Heritage Lab, working under prof. Jaehong Ahn.
I was born in Moscow, Russia, and had a chance to spend some time of my life in the US, France and England. Right now I strive to travel the World, but do so with a purpose of sharing my knowledge and learning something in the domain I am passionate about. Before joining KAIST, I've been a language enthusiast, which helped me master French, Spanish and Korean besides my native Russian and English. In 2023, I was selected as a GKS Scholar by the Korean government and given the opportunity to join KAIST, which I am working hard to use to the fullest. After starting my graduate term, I moved from natural language to that of the machines - I now spend every spare minute communicating with machines and building something new.
Education:
2018-2022 - BA in Oriental and African studies - Lomonosov Moscow State University, Institute of Asian and African Studies
2024-Present - Graduate student in the Digital Heritage Lab - KAIST Graduate School of Culture Technology
Research
During my undergraduate studies, I've authored multiple works on the Innovation, Technology and R&D industries in Korea. Specifically, I was researching the economics of Korean R&D sector, the integration of technology into economy and its influence, and international R&D cooperation. As a Korean studies scholar, I've also contributed to several books introducing Korea to the general public.
My current research interests include NLP and Deep Generative Learning and their applications in Heritage and Computer Graphics. In my spare time, I work on personal projects and train domain-specific chatbots and experiment with new generative architectures. I constantly enrich my knowledge and expand my interests to other fields of AI, but Generative Modeling remains to be the domain that attracts me the most.
Some of my pulished works include:
“Prospects of the Korean-Russian economic relations in the field of innovation and hi-tech”
“Impact of modern financial and digital technologies on the structural transformation of the credit and banking system of the Republic of Korea”
“The role of chaebol conglomerates in the development of digital technologies in the Republic of Korea”
